South East Trade Investment & Economic Summit

South East Trade, Investment and Economic Summit

THEME: The Great Awakening – AKULUO-UNO

The SE region has done well so far for itself in the past, but has done so individually. Today, it is now time for a collective and conscious approach to our regional development as a people. Relying or waiting for the Federal Government to develop the SE would be a pipe dream as the Federal Government have their hands full at the moment in developing other areas and regions of the federation.

This aim is to reawaken the Post Independence drive of the SE as a panacea to the growing restiveness and insecurity in our region, and replicate the giant strides taken at industrialization and development of the SE led by the then premier Dr M.I Okpara. Premised on our large commercial driving force of the nation, and supposedly our large contribution to the economic stability of Nigeria and challenges we face as a people, it becomes imperative for the people of the SE region to realize that only SE can develop SE.

At the South East Economic, Trade, and Investment Summit the Road-Map for a sustainable transformation and development shall be unveiled and the Master Plan for our Transformation to the new Dubai of West Africa shall be unveiled.

The Focus – AKULUO-UNO

ENERGY – There would not be a successful industrialization without Energy. The Plan for Regional Energy Plants shall be unveiled. This shall be a further boost the opportunity for investments and profits!

HEALTH – One has to be alive to thrive. CoVID  pandemic revealed a possible future disaster during the pandemic – the inability to access adequate healthcare during a lock down. Plans are underway for World-class health institutions as it is foolhardy for us to have numerous billionaires in the SE but cannot boast of easy access to best healthcare in the world except if flown abroad.

AGRICULTURE – No nation can thrive without adequate provision of food for the population. More so, the drive this time shall be food for exports utilizing the cargo Airport.  Private sector driven Agriculture and farm produce spanning the production of grains, dairy, tubers, and livestock, for consumption and export in the most modern fashion

MANUFACTURING & INDUSTRY – FDI is expected to flow into SE in large numbers. State governments are to benefit via PPPs to generate more revenue and tax, and provide jobs for the teeming SE population and hence stem the tide in restiveness and insecurity. New businesses in diaspora are already lined up waiting to berth in the SE during this summit.

AVIATION – The SE is blessed with numerous Billionaire businessmen, merchants, and traders of international repute and it is still a surprise that there are no direct flights from the region to China, Europe and other business regions. The SE is an international gateways for direct flights to international destinations and regional Export hub

TOURISM & HOSPITALITY – The message is that the SE is open for business and we are warm, accommodating people who love visitors. Numerous tourist spots exist in the region such as Ogbunike cave, Afikpo, Milken hill, war relics, pre-colonial regions, others. SE shall encourage tourism and cultural heritage exploration showcasing our people and our unique culture to the rest of the world.

The S.E.E.D. PROJECT

INFRASTRUCTURE – There is no Trade or development without provision of basic infrastructures such as road, rail, etc. Provisions of good roads lead to economic growth so that goods and services can be easily transported around region and outside.

TRADE, EXPORT & COMMERCE – The people of the SE region are passionate about commerce and trading. The SE has given birth to numerous markets within and outside the region that serve national purposes. Such should be encouraged within the region

EDUCATION, TECHNOLOGY/IT – Igbos are originally well known for Nka Núzu (Science and Tech). Since the earliest days in history Igbos are experts at fabricating machines and equipment. This would now be encouraged on a larger scale. The SE shall have unrivalled success in areas of Coding, FinTech, Tech Hubs, Block-Chain Technologies, AI and other digital innovations that serve legitimate commercial purposes.

MARITIME INDUSTRY – What benefits the SE more, A 2nd Niger bridge or a Seaport? With the high volumes of importation business carried out by traders and merchants of SE origin, the cost of transportation of containers laden with goods to the SE are up to treble figures when compared to the far cheaper landing costs of same containers.

REAL ESTATE DEVELOPMENT: The real Estate sector is growing with private Estates springing up in various states in the South East. There is need for proper town planning to reflect modern trends, regulations and standards

In explicit details,

Below are the few list of deliverables that would be a direct outcome of the Summit in the form of business opportunities:

1. Independent Power Plants
2. Integrated Railway to boost transport and logistics within the region. (It’s being developed as we speak.)
3. Regional Trade, Manufacturing, and Export Hubs. Just as is found in Dubai.
4. Industrial Parks and zones mapped out across the entire SE to boost commercial activities in partnership with the states’ govts.
5. Digital Cities to boost IT products, Fintech, Start-ups, Blockchain Technology, and the Internet of Things.
6. Globally standardised healthcare and Mega Hospitals.
7. Aviation, Tourism, and Hospitality.
8. Over 5 Million jobs created across the entire region over a 5-year period.
9. Over 100,000 new businesses, SMEs, across the entire region
10. Project Management Consulting Support to ensure generational wealth and sustainable businesses such that Igbo businesses would last rather than collapse after the business owner dies unlike before.
11. Improved standards of living, education, and development for everyone.
12. Over $100 Million worth of investments both from local and foreign investors over a 5-year period.
13. Unveiling the Master Plan on HOW this would be achieved.

NOTE: Currently, some state governments are already working with us individually to activate and upgrade their states using this template.

It’s only fair that we reveal the same secret to the entire region so growth is uniform and no one is left behind
